You bet it is! You will have a specific rep count, weight load, tempo, rest period and level of difficulty that is different from the rest of the class. You will also have a heart and lung test done before you start your program. You will also have your vitals tracked as you exercise to make sure it matches your test results to ensure the best physical outcome for every workout. Plus, as you work out, if you have trouble with form or anything else, the trainer is there to get you back on track or answer your questions.
Muscle soreness felt a day or two after a heavy bout of exercise is not totally understood. Muscle soreness usually occurs when we effectively train in our lactate system, due to lactic acid building up and due to glucose (carbs and protein) not completely breaking down in a muscle. Because this pain does not happen immediately, it is referred to as delayed-onset muscle soreness (DOMS). DOMS is classified as a type I muscle strain and can vary from slight muscle stiffness to severe injuries. We understand as fellow exercisers that DOMS is a literal pain and sometimes can be a little scary.
If your muscles are just tight – this can happen after a light and effective workout has occurred.
If your muscles are slightly sore – this can happen after an effective workout has occurred.
If your muscles are good and sore – this can happen after a very effective workout has occurred.
Most injuries in fitness are strains, over stressing or over stretching muscles and/or tendons. Proper warm-up and proper lifting technique helps to prevent a strain. Once a strain occurs, you need to rest the area. Other aids to healing may include the use of ice to keep down swelling, elevation, and compression. Later on, when a strain is no longer inflamed, heat can be used.
Strain can occur in areas that you are not actually working but simply contracting for leverage.

If there will be a period of time where your ability to work out at Peak Zone Fitness is limited, you have several options:
If there is an illness, or other situation where you can’t work out at all, you can freeze your account until you able to return. In freezing your account, you will preserve your present pricing and are protected from any price increase.
There are two freeze options
We definitely don’t want to lose you as a member and if it’s a matter of moving away from the gym, be sure to check with one of the owners as there are new Peak Zone Fitness locations in the planning stage and perhaps there will be one where you are moving.
If there’s some kind of problem, perhaps an injury, a misunderstanding with another member or a staff member, please talk to management and see if there’s a way we can resolve the issues. Perhaps a freeze of your membership while the solution is being progressed is a better solution. Remember that your membership fee is frozen when you freeze your membership rather than cancel so if you decide to come back later, there will be no higher fee for you.
There is still the option of freezing your account until you are ready to resume your program.
